Timo Werner fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 15th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Julio Vera having to interfere. In the 22nd minute, Cristian Sancho got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mariusz Rydzyk in the 24th minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Timo Werners short, quick shot in the 28thth minute got Julio Vera to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. The corner ended in Timo Werner almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Ecuador's Julio Vera did a great save. In the 36th minute the ball was on its way in behind Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Julio Vera made a fantastic save in the 37th minute, when Mariusz Rydzyk sent off a good shot on target. The supporters of Ecuador booed when Przemysl was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 43 match minutes in a wonderful position. Wieslaw Falkiewicz didn't get a good kick on the ball. Cristian Sancho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Artur Scigan having to interfere.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Daniel Zorita was the one to do the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Wieslaw Falkiewicz in the 81st minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Bogdan Hodas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Waclaw Dubiel in the 92nd minute of the match. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cezary Plaski, who was totally free with the ball in the 94th minute. Ecuador were clearly unhappy with the draw, as they felt they had done enough to earn themselves a victory.
