Thibault Delanoë's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Julio Vera read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 28th minute of play. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Thibault Delanoë in the 29th minute of play. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Thibault Delanoë in the 29th minute of play. Sal Darby might have been able to make a better finish in the 30th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Julio Vera. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Thibault Delanoë in the 81st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Julio Vera prevented the ball from getting in the gole. If Daniel Zorita had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Cospe-Fogo-Pelasventa made a substitution. Zanko Shosev replaced João Carlos Mesquita. Lütfi Kutlubay stood somewhat misplaced when Daniel Zorita came free in front of goal and shot 0-3 to the left of him in the 88 minute. 91 minutes into the game, Luciano Maciel was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Cospe-Fogo-Pelasventa's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ecuador the free kick. The supporters of Ecuador booed when Cospe-Fogo-Pelasventa was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 91 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luciano Maciel didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ecuador's Daniel Zorita shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 92nd minute of play. The shot was stopped by Lütfi Kutlubay but with some difficulty. The Cospe-Fogo-Pelasventa fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Ecuador were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
