In the 13th minute Luis Andino shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cristóvão Malheiro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Felix Montenegro fell near the penalty area in the 15th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Ecuador's protests and gave Felix Montenegro a yellow card for diving instead. Felix Montenegro kicked well hit freekick during the 15th minute of the match. Ecuador's Felix Montenegro got a good chance for a goal in the 18th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristian Sancho in the 20th minute of play forced Manducha Fc's goalkeeper Cristóvão Malheiro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 22 minutes into the match, Manducha Fc's goal looked a bit too open when Cristian Sancho came free, but Cristóvão Malheiro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Admon Lavijo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Reynaldo Ostots in the 35th minute of play. Cristóvão Malheiro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Daniel Zorita in the 46th minute of play. When Deyan Grúmenov came up free with the goalie in the 47th minute, the Manducha Fc fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Deyan Grúmenov couldn't finish the play. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Daniel Zorita recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 52nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Admon Lavijo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Julio Vera having to interfere. Manducha Fc made a substitution. Walmir Moraes replaced Reynaldo Ostots. Cristóvão Malheiro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristian Sancho in the 64th minute of the match. Ecuador's Daniel Zorita was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 65th play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. Deyan Grúmenov hit a great freekick 71 minutes into the match. After a defensive mix-up in Manducha Fc's zone, Daniel Zorita stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Cristóvão Malheiro came out of the goal and Daniel Zorita tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Caco Terra charged in rather forcefully in the 73rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Caco Terra the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Agustín Saelices took the ball and in the 77 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Cristóvão Malheiro. Cristóvão Malheiro dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. Ecuador's Daniel Zorita got a good chance for a goal in the 80th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Walmir Moraes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Julio Vera having to interfere. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Walmir Moraes in the 88th minute of play. After having played for 89 minutes, Cristian Sancho managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ecuador's supporters crossed their fingers, but Cristian Sancho was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Primitivo Andino fell near the penalty area in the 94th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Ecuador's protests and gave Primitivo Andino a yellow card for diving instead. Walmir Moraes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 96th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the match was over Ecuador could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Manducha Fc throughout the match.
