A collision led to Phoenix Baia-Mare -MM- getting a freekick after 3 minutes play. Emil Wielopolski hit a great ball. With a little luck, MIT's Calistrat Madgearu got control of the ball when Zhao Sen Yang tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 13th minute Emil Wielopolski shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Calistrat Madgearu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mihăiţă Ilarie in the 16th minute of play forced Phoenix Baia-Mare -MM-'s goalkeeper Ivan Chiuzbaian to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 18th minute Zhao Sen Yang shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Calistrat Madgearu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Calistrat Madgearu made a fantastic save in the 20th minute, when Primitivo Grau sent off a good shot on target. 20 minutes into the game, Zhao Sen Yang lined in a short shot 1-0 behind a frustrated Calistrat Madgearu. With a little luck, MIT's Calistrat Madgearu got control of the ball when Primitivo Grau tried to sneak it across the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Zhao Sen Yang in the 25th minute of play forced MIT's goalkeeper Calistrat Madgearu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some careless play in the Phoenix Baia-Mare -MM- defense, Tiberiu Caramarin kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Ivan Chiuzbaian. The Phoenix Baia-Mare -MM- fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ivan Chiuzbaian should have stopped the shot. Zhao Sen Yang could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 30th minute of the match, but Calistrat Madgearu made a huge save. 33 minutes into the match, Tiberiu Caramarin notched a goal, 1-2, to the right of Phoenix Baia-Mare -MM-'s Ivan Chiuzbaian. Ivan Chiuzbaian was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Zhao Sen Yang succeeded in the game's 36th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 2-2. In the 40th minute, Tiberiu Caramarin made a precise shot to the right of Ivan Chiuzbaian. Phoenix Baia-Mare -MM-'s defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-3. After some fancy dribbling in the 45th minute, Zhao Sen Yang managed to get in a good position for a shot. Phoenix Baia-Mare -MM-'s supporters rose to their feet, but Zhao Sen Yang was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Calistrat Madgearu breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Disappointed in the 2-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Tiberiu Caramarin was the one to do the kick off. 51 minutes into the match, Phoenix Baia-Mare -MM-'s goalkeeper Ivan Chiuzbaian had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Tiberiu Caramarin. Ivan Chiuzbaian made an important save on a dangerous shot by Tiberiu Caramarin in the 51st minute. Tiberiu Caramarin could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 52nd minute of the match, but Ivan Chiuzbaian made a huge save. After a rather tough play, MIT's Romeo Gherghescu got a free kick in the 54th minute. Calistrat Madgearu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Zhao Sen Yang, who was totally free with the ball in the 58th minute. In the 61st minute, Zhao Sen Yang ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Calistrat Madgearu was frozen by the shot and now it was 4-3. Phoenix Baia-Mare -MM-'s defense didn't have a chance, in the 65th minute, when Dorin Banu scored to the left of an out of position Ivan Chiuzbaian, making the score, 4-4. The crowd rose to their feet as MIT's Dorin Banu slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Ivan Chiuzbaian. That made the score 4-5 after 70 minutes of play. Phoenix Baia-Mare -MM- made a substitution. Mugurel Pandele replaced İlhami Akyazıcı. MIT made a substitution. David Tunander replaced Dorin Banu. 81 minutes into the match, Phoenix Baia-Mare -MM-'s goal looked a bit too open when Tiberiu Caramarin came free, but Ivan Chiuzbaian reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Calistrat Madgearu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Emil Wielopolski, who was totally free with the ball in the 82nd minute. Phoenix Baia-Mare -MM-'s Ivan Chiuzbaian proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 84th minute of the match, managed to save Phoenix Baia-Mare -MM- from getting a goal against them. MIT's Bogdan Bucataru was substituted for Mihăiţă Ilarie. Ivan Chiuzbaian made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from David Tunander in the 93rd minute of play. When Stasio Bienienda fell near the penalty area in the 94th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Phoenix Baia-Mare -MM-'s protests and gave Stasio Bienienda a yellow card for diving instead. Phoenix Baia-Mare -MM- were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of MIT for a fine match.
