Spectators: 36 (Terracing: 28, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Juniors FC's Enrique Frasco started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After some careless play in the Juniors FC defense, Elpidio Francis kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Lázaro Colon. The Juniors FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Lázaro Colon should have stopped the shot. Elpidio Francis's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Lázaro Colon read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 13th minute of play. Lázaro Colon made a fantastic save in the 14th minute, when Elpidio Francis sent off a good shot on target. The supporters of Juniors FC booed when ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 15 match minutes in a wonderful position. Petrică Măcriș didn't get a good kick on the ball. 18 minutes into the match, Juniors FC's Enrique Frasco sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Branislav Velchevski narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 19th minute of the match Juniors FC got a corner. ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Wlodzimierz Lepper ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner ended in Wlodzimierz Lepper almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA's Branislav Velchevski did a great save. Lázaro Colon made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Elpidio Francis in the 21st minute of play. In the 24th play minute Petrică Măcriș came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Lázaro Colon. 2-0. Enrique Frasco's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Branislav Velchevski read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 29th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Elpidio Francis in the 33rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Lázaro Colon saved Juniors FC from getting behind. Elpidio Francis received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Lázaro Colon came out and tried to block the shot, but Elpidio Francis slotted it home off the left post making it 3-0 in the 35th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Petrică Măcriș got free with Lázaro Colon in the 39th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Juniors FC's Eduardo Gervaso managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Mustafa Ali Cansoy in the 42 minute of the game. Petrică Măcriș sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Juniors FC were furious when Severino Garikoitz was red carded, 47 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. In the 47th minute, one of Juniors FC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Juniors FC. When the match had been going on for 50 minutes, ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA's André Monclús got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Lázaro Colon. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The supporters of Juniors FC booed when ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 55 match minutes in a wonderful position. Olle Snell didn't get a good kick on the ball. Daniel Loi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Branislav Velchevski having to interfere. Juniors FC's Jerzy Piszczor was substituted for Daniel Loi. 77 minutes in the game Mustafa Ali Cansoy did a throw-in, and the ball was quickly in game thanks to Olle Snell. 78 minutes into the match, ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA's André Monclús sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Lázaro Colon narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Lázaro Colon made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from André Monclús in the 84th minute of play. In the 89th minute of the game Mustafa Ali Cansoy made a throw-in which Olle Snell played forward. Lázaro Colon took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from André Monclús, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some fancy dribbling in the 100th minute, André Monclús managed to get in a good position for a shot. ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA's supporters rose to their feet, but André Monclús was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Lázaro Colon breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
