If Domingo Urki had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 9th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a couple of smart ball manuevers André Monclús in the 11th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Seyhan Atlıhan saved Formentera from getting behind. In the 12th minute Carlos Fernández shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Branislav Velchevski saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Arnaldo Gabon's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 17thth minute, Seyhan Atlıhan skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Branislav Velchevski made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Carlos Fernández in the 18th minute of play. When Hernan Chus fell near the penalty area in the 19th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Formentera's protests and gave Hernan Chus a yellow card for diving instead. After 19 played minutes Formentera got a freekick which was hit by Hernan Chus. Seyhan Atlıhan made a fantastic save in the 20th minute, when André Monclús sent off a good shot on target. After 21 played minutes Formentera got a freekick which was hit by Justino Hondo. Elpidio Francis kicked well hit freekick during the 25th minute of the match. The supporters of ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA booed when Formentera was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 31 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bernardo Ignatius didn't get a good kick on the ball. Domingo Urki's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Branislav Velchevski read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 35th minute of play. ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA's Branislav Velchevski played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Carlos Fernández in the 37th minute of play. Seyhan Atlıhan made a fantastic save in the 43rd minute, when Aristides Asteri sent off a good shot on target. Eustaquio Bartuelo hit a great freekick 44 minutes into the match. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA's Guido Carrillo was substituted for Elpidio Francis. The wind increased when Domingo Urki made the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Guido Carrillo in the 55th minute of play forced Formentera's goalkeeper Seyhan Atlıhan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a little luck, ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA's Branislav Velchevski got control of the ball when Domingo Urki tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 85th minute Aristides Asteri shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Seyhan Atlıhan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Formentera's Eustaquio Bartuelo got a free kick in the 87th minute. Hernan Chus hit a great freekick 88 minutes into the match. 89 minutes into the match, Formentera's goal looked a bit too open when Esteban Iztal came free, but Seyhan Atlıhan reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
