But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Genco Bahçeli couldn't finish the play. In the 15th minute, Lautaro Puig left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Costa Rica fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. If Eliseo Noboa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Tuncay Ersalmış during the 21st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, ☪TURKISH COWBOYS☪'s Tuncay Ersalmış got a free kick in the 21st minute. The first half was very even, with the score at 2-2 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Arif Burak Batır to make the kick off. Adem Tokel didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Eliseo Noboa went, in the 53rd minute, to the upper right corner, 3-2 was the resulting score. Alan Moruga hit a great freekick 59 minutes into the match. Benito Sanz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Arif Burak Batır, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to Costa Rica getting a freekick after 62 minutes play. Lautaro Puig hit a great ball.
