Manfredo Zanussi could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 40th minute of the match, but Julio Vera made a huge save. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Manfredo Zanussi in the 69th minute of play. 72 minutes had been played when some careless play by Ecuador's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Tymoteusz Cetnar was slow to take the kick. During this time La Gagoneta's players had a chance to rest. Manfredo Zanussi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 74th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to La Gagoneta getting a freekick after 76 minutes play. Victor Cristofor hit a great ball. Tymoteusz Cetnar went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner ended in Horacio Mogel almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Ecuador's Julio Vera did a great save. Manfredo Zanussi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Julio Vera having to interfere. La Gagoneta succeeded in salvaging a draw, even though Ecuador had controlled the match.
