Jardel Falcão took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cristian Sancho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The Ecuador fans' excitement grew in the 34th match minute when Ecuador's Daniel Zorita looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 3-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. When Luiz Fernando Tróia fell near the penalty area in the 36th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Maraponga FAC's protests and gave Luiz Fernando Tróia a yellow card for diving instead. After 36 played minutes Maraponga FAC got a freekick which was hit by Luiz Fernando Tróia. Daniel Zorita took the ball and in the 39 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Jardel Falcão. Jardel Falcão dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 4-0. In the 45th minute, Maraponga FAC's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Daniel Zorita fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. In the 46th minute, Daniel Zorita ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Jardel Falcão was frozen by the shot and now it was 5-0.

In the 60th minute, Cristian Sancho got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Agustín Saelices in the 62nd minute of play forced Maraponga FAC's goalkeeper Jardel Falcão to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jardel Falcão stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Cristian Sancho's shot from short distance in the 63rd minute. Jardel Falcão showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Daniel Zorita in the 68th minute of the match. A collision led to Maraponga FAC getting a freekick after 68 minutes play. Richard Tróia hit a great ball. In the 71st minute Daniel Zorita shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jardel Falcão saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Cristian Sancho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 73rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 79 minutes into the match, Maraponga FAC's goal looked a bit too open when Daniel Zorita came free, but Jardel Falcão reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Felix Montes was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post. Cristian Sancho struck a weak shot in the 82nd minute. Jardel Falcão didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ecuador. When Téo Sá fell near the penalty area in the 83rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Maraponga FAC's protests and gave Téo Sá a yellow card for diving instead. In the 83rd match minute, Maraponga FAC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Téo Sá to maneuver through the defense. After a rather tough play, Maraponga FAC's Luiz Fernando Tróia got a free kick in the 84th minute. Cristian Sancho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 85th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a defensive mix-up in Maraponga FAC's zone, Cristian Sancho stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jardel Falcão came out of the goal and Cristian Sancho tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Cristian Sancho's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Jardel Falcão read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 98th minute of play.
