Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Erwin Rommel in the 19th minute of play. If Cristian Sancho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 24 minutes, Camilo Gisbert mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Ecuador and the Slaytanic Army players grew even worse after the yellow card. In a very dangerous position, a player in Ecuador fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 23rd minute. Penalty! The goalkeeper, Julio Vera, was totally fooled by Slaytanic Army's Tymoteusz Drab, who 25 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. In the 27th minute Cristian Sancho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alfred Chludzinski saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The corner led to Ecuador's Luis Andino getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. The supporters of Slaytanic Army booed when Ecuador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 31 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cristian Sancho didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 32nd match minute, Ecuador was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Agustín Saelices to maneuver through the defense. 33 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Errikos Delioridis. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Alfred Chludzinski showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Daniel Zorita to make the kick off. 52 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Erwin Rommel came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 64th match minute, Slaytanic Army was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Iwo Adamski to maneuver through the defense. 71 minutes into the match, Slaytanic Army's goalkeeper Alfred Chludzinski had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Luis Andino. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lis Przecherka in the 73rd minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Erwin Rommel came up free with the goalie in the 78th minute, the Slaytanic Army fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Erwin Rommel couldn't finish the play. Errikos Delioridis sent away a hard shot on goal in the 81st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The audience thought a goal was coming when Daniel Zorita got free with Alfred Chludzinski in the 86th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After a rather tough play, Ecuador's Felix Montes got a free kick in the 87th minute. After having played for 87 minutes, Errikos Delioridis managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Slaytanic Army's supporters crossed their fingers, but Errikos Delioridis was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 90 minutes into the match, Lis Przecherka had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Julio Vera. Ecuador's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Lis Przecherka was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. A collision led to Ecuador getting a freekick after 95 minutes play. Felix Montenegro hit a great ball. Many of Ecuador's supporters were seen to leave the ground early as it became clear their team was going to lose. Ecuador may have spent more time on the ball, but Slaytanic Army were more willing to take their chances and they walked away with the win.
