In the 29th minute, Lawrence Udias hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 31 minutes into the game, Hernan Machado cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Julio Vera was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristian Sancho in the 39th minute of play forced INTERNAUTAS FDC's goalkeeper Banan Balle to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to Ecuador getting a freekick after 41 minutes play. Juan Sebastián Puig hit a great ball. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Daniel Zorita to make the kick off. In the 53rd minute, Hernan Machado left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The INTERNAUTAS FDC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-0. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Banan Balle, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Cristian Sancho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 79th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Hernan Machado's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Julio Vera read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 81st minute of play. Felix Montenegro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 84th minute. Banan Balle tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 91st minute, Lawrence Udias hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The crowd rose to their feet as Agustín Saelices kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Banan Balle. That made the score 3-3 in the 94 minute of play. Ecuador were clearly unhappy with the draw, as they felt they had done enough to earn themselves a victory.
