Rolando Noboa came out and tried to block the shot, but Afonso da Cunha slotted it home off the left post making it 2-0 in the 14th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Julian Murillo in the 17th minute of play forced CA Metropolitano - FSCMZ's goalkeeper Ludomil Ziomkowski to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Afonso da Cunha could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 18th minute of the match, but Rolando Noboa made a huge save. In the 26th match minute, CA Metropolitano - FSCMZ was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Eustacio Ikatz to maneuver through the defense. Ludomil Ziomkowski came out of the goal in the 34th minute to try and stop a shot by Peru's Julian Murillo. In the 40th minute of the match, Afonso da Cunha tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Rolando Noboa saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Rolando Noboa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Afonso da Cunha, who was totally free with the ball in the 46th minute. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-1.

The wind increased when Afonso da Cunha made the kick off in the second half.
