After some fancy dribbling in the 35th minute, Luis Andino managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ecuador's supporters rose to their feet, but Luis Andino was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Juarês da Silveira breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Doni Abreu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Cristian Sancho did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 1-2 to the left of a surprised Juarês da Silveira 46 minutes into the match. After the first half Scotland Titans were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Daniel Zorita stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Juarês da Silveira took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cristian Sancho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Daniel Zorita fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 53rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Juarês da Silveira having to interfere. When the match had gone on for 56 minutes, Jairo Alcântara took a quick shot and it went in 1-3 without a chance for Julio Vera to make any attempt to save it. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jairo Alcântara in the 60th minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Ecuador booed when Scotland Titans was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 62 match minutes in a wonderful position. Augusto Motta didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 63rd minute, Felix Montenegro ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Juarês da Silveira was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-3. Jairo Alcântara took the ball and in the 92 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Julio Vera. Julio Vera dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-4. Luis Andino scored 4-4 in the 96th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Juarês da Silveira, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Despite being the better team, Ecuador failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
