In the 21st minute, Tymoteusz Drab ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Benito Sanz was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. 24 minutes into the game, Slaytanic Army's Tymoteusz Drab nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Benito Sanz made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-3. Benito Sanz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Erwin Rommel in the 33rd minute of the match. 37 minutes into the match, Costa Rica's goal looked a bit too open when Iwo Adamski came free, but Benito Sanz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Slaytanic Army's Errikos Delioridis in the 38th minute got a chance for a shot 38th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Eliseo Noboa during the 45th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Slaytanic Army booed when Costa Rica was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 45 match minutes in a wonderful position. Eliseo Noboa didn't get a good kick on the ball.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Axel Tasis was the one to do the kick off. 53 minutes into the game, Lautaro Puig was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Costa Rica's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Slaytanic Army the free kick. A collision led to Costa Rica getting a freekick after 53 minutes play. Lautaro Puig hit a great ball. Errikos Delioridis had several of the Costa Rica's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 54 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 0-5 score and a disappointed Benito Sanz as he didn't even see the shot coming. Benito Sanz made an important save on a dangerous shot by Lis Przecherka in the 57th minute. The crowd rose to their feet as Lis Przecherka kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Benito Sanz. That made the score 0-6 in the 59 minute of play. Costa Rica's Benito Sanz proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 64th minute of the match, managed to save Costa Rica from getting a goal against them. Costa Rica's defense didn't have a chance, in the 65th minute, when Erwin Rommel scored to the left of an out of position Benito Sanz, making the score, 0-7. In the 70th minute, Erwin Rommel reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Benito Sanz. The goal made the score 0-8. If Axel Tasis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 80th minute Errikos Delioridis shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Benito Sanz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Slaytanic Army booed when Costa Rica was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 87 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alexander Carballo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Benito Sanz was out of position in the 88 minute of play, and Errikos Delioridis capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal.
