Spectators: 50 (Terracing: 38, Seating: 11, VIP seats: 1) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Oswaldo Reyes started the match with the kick off. Patricio Costa might have been able to make a better finish in the 2nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Salvador Menjivar. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Patricio Costa ran back to his position shaking his head. With a little luck, Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant got control of the ball when Felipe Cerna tried to sneak it across the goal line. Jonathan Venegas kicked well hit freekick during the 9th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 18th minute, Félix Suarez managed to get in a good position for a shot. SantaAna's supporters rose to their feet, but Félix Suarez was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jonathan Ferrant breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. A throw-in in the 20th minute of the game was made by Carmelo Benavides with Felipe Cerna as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. Felipe Cerna might have been able to make a better finish in the 22nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Jonathan Ferrant. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. SantaAna's Félix Suarez got a good chance for a goal in the 26th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 28 minutes in the game Carmelo Benavides did a throw-in, and the ball was quickly in game thanks to Felipe Cerna. Salvador Menjivar took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tomas Illescas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Tomas Illescas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 40th minute. Salvador Menjivar tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 43rd minute Oswaldo Reyes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jonathan Ferrant saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Edgardo Carrillo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 45th minute. Jonathan Ferrant tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 47 minutes into the match, SantaAna's Felipe Cerna sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Jonathan Ferrant narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Edgardo Carrillo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 48th minute. Jonathan Ferrant tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Tomas Illescas to strike the kick off in the second half. The supporters of SantaAna booed when Venezuela was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 52 match minutes in a wonderful position. Camilo Gaos didn't get a good kick on the ball. Carmelo Benavides sent away a hard shot on goal in the 53rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Tomas Illescas in the 63rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Salvador Menjivar saved SantaAna from getting behind. 65 minutes into the match, Venezuela's goal looked a bit too open when Edgardo Carrillo came free, but Jonathan Ferrant reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Félix Suarez sent away a hard shot on goal in the 69th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Félix Suarez in the 73rd minute of play. 74 minutes had been played when some careless play by Venezuela's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Carmelo Benavides was slow to take the kick. During this time SantaAna's players had a chance to rest. In the 77th minute of the match Tiger King shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Jonathan Ferrant showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Tomas Illescas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Salvador Menjivar having to interfere. Jose Correa hit a great freekick 80 minutes into the match. Jonathan Ferrant showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Félix Suarez in the 83rd minute of the match. A throw-in in the 85th minute of the game was made by Manuel Meza with Edgardo Carrillo as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. After 87 minutes, Jonathan Venegas mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Venezuela and the SantaAna players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 87 played minutes Venezuela got a freekick which was hit by Jonathan Venegas. Jonathan Ferrant made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Felipe Cerna in the 88th minute of play. Venezuela's Tomas Illescas couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for SantaAna. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Félix Suarez in the 94th minute of play. Salvador Menjivar showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tomas Illescas in the 96th minute of the match. Venezuela's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
