The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Maximo Goren made in the 2nd minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Peru's Eliseo Mina. In the 3rd minute Julian Murillo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jeronimo Rainerio saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

51 minutes into the match, Peru's Julian Murillo sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Jeronimo Rainerio narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After some careless play in the Peru defense, Ulisses Andrade kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Rolando Noboa. The Peru fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Rolando Noboa should have stopped the shot. 55 minutes into the game, Maximo Goren threw the ball into play from the sideline. Peru's Eliseo Mina quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. Julian Murillo struck a weak shot in the 56th minute. Jeronimo Rainerio didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Peru. With a little luck, ᑎᗝᖇ丅ᕼᗴᖇᑎ ᒪᎥǤᕼ丅ᔕ's Jeronimo Rainerio got control of the ball when Julian Murillo tried to sneak it across the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ulisses Andrade in the 72nd minute of play forced Peru's goalkeeper Rolando Noboa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A sloppy throw-in by Bonifacio Elija in the 73rd minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Peru's Eliseo Mina. After 78 minutes of play, Peru's Eliseo Mina made it 1-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Jeronimo Rainerio was left in no man's land by his defense there! Jeronimo Rainerio stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Julian Murillo's shot from short distance in the 84th minute. After having played for 85 minutes, Julian Murillo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Peru's supporters crossed their fingers, but Julian Murillo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Peru's Antonio Tenorio was substituted for Luz Tejedor. Rolando Noboa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Guilherme Basso in the 89th minute of play. Jeronimo Rainerio showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rafael Gallo in the 91st minute of the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Rafael Gallo in the 94th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jeronimo Rainerio prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The Peru players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
