The corner ended in Luz Tejedor almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Djurgårdens IF's Yngve Fredriksson did a great save. With a little luck, Peru's Rolando Noboa got control of the ball when Karl-Åke Termander tried to sneak it across the goal line. Yngve Fredriksson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Julian Murillo in the 17th minute of the match. Yngve Fredriksson stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Julian Murillo's shot from short distance in the 23rd minute. Marcus Botvidsson hit a great freekick 25 minutes into the match. 30 minutes into the game, Peru's Julian Murillo nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Yngve Fredriksson made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. In the 37th match minute, Peru was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luz Tejedor to maneuver through the defense. 42 minutes into the match, Djurgårdens IF's goal looked a bit too open when Luz Tejedor came free, but Yngve Fredriksson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 47 minutes into the game, Julian Murillo cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-3. Yngve Fredriksson was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The Djurgårdens IF players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Peru were winning 0-3.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Julian Murillo made a kick off. Yngve Fredriksson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Julian Murillo in the 52nd minute of play. Zbigniew Nigbor's late challenge caught a Peru's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Zbigniew Nigbor helped the player get up and apologised. Zbigniew Nigbor kicked well hit freekick during the 53rd minute of the match. 57 minutes into the match, Peru's Julian Murillo sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Yngve Fredriksson narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Rolando Noboa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Karl-Åke Termander, who was totally free with the ball in the 64th minute. Anthony Alvarado kicked well hit freekick during the 65th minute of the match. Djurgårdens IF's Kennet Forsman managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Milagros Fraga in the 68 minute of the game. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Karl-Åke Termander in the 76th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Rolando Noboa saved Peru from getting behind. When the match had gone on for 79 minutes, Julian Murillo took a quick shot and it went in 0-4 without a chance for Yngve Fredriksson to make any attempt to save it. Djurgårdens IF made a substitution. Alex Vinström replaced Karl-Åke Termander. Yngve Fredriksson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Julian Murillo in the 83rd minute of the match. Peru's Eliseo Alcocer was substituted for Moises Gayoso. Peru's Rafael Gallo was substituted for Julian Murillo. Peru made a substitution. Antonio Tenorio replaced Luz Tejedor. 89 minutes into the game, Milagros Fraga threw the ball into play from the sideline. The Djurgårdens IF fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Peru were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
