Umberto Moura helped the player get up and apologised. Umberto Moura kicked well hit freekick during the 10th minute of the match. Daniel Zorita could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 15th minute of the match, but Clemente Varela made a huge save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristian Sancho in the 20th minute of play forced MarquinhosEC's goalkeeper Clemente Varela to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Marco Boldrini kicked well hit freekick during the 22nd minute of the match. In the 23rd minute Daniel Zorita shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Clemente Varela saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Felix Montenegro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Clemente Varela having to interfere. Cristian Sancho was extremely unlucky when he, in the 31st minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. Daniel Zorita sent away a hard shot on goal in the 36th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 39th minute, Ecuador's Cristian Sancho ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Clemente Varela. Clemente Varela yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 4-0. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Zé Carlos Barbosa, who was totally free with the ball in the 46th minute. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 4-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Célio Matorin stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Zé Carlos Barbosa in the 51st minute of play. 56 minutes into the match, MarquinhosEC's goal looked a bit too open when Daniel Zorita came free, but Clemente Varela reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 57th play minutes Daniel Zorita shot 5-0, a short shot which went by Clemente Varela and just under the crossbar into goal. After having played for 60 minutes, Cristian Sancho managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ecuador's supporters crossed their fingers, but Cristian Sancho was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Ecuador's Cristian Sancho got a good chance for a goal in the 63rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Clemente Varela made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Daniel Zorita in the 64th minute of play. Clemente Varela showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cristian Sancho, who was totally free with the ball in the 67th minute. Daniel Zorita struck a weak shot in the 71st minute. Clemente Varela didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ecuador. Felix Montenegro took the ball and in the 72 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Clemente Varela. Clemente Varela dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 6-0. Clemente Varela didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Agustín Saelices went, in the 88th minute, to the upper right corner, 7-0 was the resulting score. Zé Carlos Barbosa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 92nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 96th minute, Felix Montes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 97th minute of the match Alfredo Loyola shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Julio Vera showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Ecuador walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
