Toni Martinovic ran back to his position shaking his head. Rigoberto Mina kicked well hit freekick during the 14th minute of the match. Jonathan Ferrant made an important save on a dangerous shot by Toto Mansilla in the 15th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Toni Martinovic in the 23rd minute of play forced Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 31 minutes into the match, Toni Martinovic notched a goal, 2-0, to the right of Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Patricio Costa recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 74th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Jonathan Ferrant made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Horácio Aparecido in the 79th minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Fermin Cambiasso during the 82nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 82nd match minute, Rosario Central was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Fermin Cambiasso to maneuver through the defense.
