Spectators: 44 (Terracing: 34, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) Ecuador's Daniel Zorita started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 3rd minute Raik Topuz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Raik Topuz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 8th minute. Julio Vera tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 10th minute, Luis Andino made a precise shot to the right of Tristan Arioli. Olympique Fribourg's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. In the 15th minute, Daniel Zorita got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Daniel Zorita struck a weak shot in the 21st minute. Tristan Arioli didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ecuador. 23 minutes into the game, Ecuador's Cristian Sancho nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Tristan Arioli made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. After 26 played minutes Ecuador got a freekick which was hit by Agustín Saelices. Omar Bünder's late challenge caught a Ecuador's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Omar Bünder helped the player get up and apologised. In the 31st match minute, Olympique Fribourg was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Omar Bünder to maneuver through the defense. In the 32nd minute Luis Andino shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tristan Arioli saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Tristan Arioli took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cristian Sancho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Tristan Arioli showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Daniel Zorita, who was totally free with the ball in the 35th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 36th minute, Daniel Zorita managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ecuador's supporters rose to their feet, but Daniel Zorita was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Tristan Arioli breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Felix Montenegro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 42 minutes into the match, Olympique Fribourg's goal looked a bit too open when Luis Andino came free, but Tristan Arioli reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 42 minutes of play, Ecuador's Luis Andino made it 0-4 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Tristan Arioli was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 48th minute, Luis Andino got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The Olympique Fribourg players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Ecuador were winning 0-4.

The wind increased when Florian Plouffe made the kick off in the second half. The crowd rose to their feet as Ecuador's Luis Andino slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Tristan Arioli. That made the score 0-5 after 55 minutes of play. Cristian Sancho struck a weak shot in the 59th minute. Tristan Arioli didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ecuador. After having played for 67 minutes, Raik Topuz managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Olympique Fribourg's supporters crossed their fingers, but Raik Topuz was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Tristan Arioli made an important save on a dangerous shot by Cristian Sancho in the 69th minute. Through an outstanding action, after 71 minutes, Tristan Arioli successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. A hard shot 76 in the game by Daniel Zorita from a close distance when the talented Tristan Arioli managed to make a qualified save. Olympique Fribourg's players were relieved. Cristian Sancho's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Tristan Arioli read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 81st minute of play. 85 minutes into the match, Olympique Fribourg's goalkeeper Tristan Arioli had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Daniel Zorita. When Daniel Zorita came up free with the goalie in the 88th minute, the Ecuador fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Daniel Zorita couldn't finish the play. The Olympique Fribourg fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Ecuador were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
