Fabio Anaya sent away a hard shot on goal in the 6th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Eugenio Henrico showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luis Andino, who was totally free with the ball in the 7th minute. The supporters of MAN FC booed when Ecuador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 8 match minutes in a wonderful position. Agustín Saelices didn't get a good kick on the ball. Luis Andino might have been able to make a better finish in the 11th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Eugenio Henrico. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Luis Andino ran back to his position shaking his head. Ecuador's Felix Montenegro got a good chance for a goal in the 12th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 14 minutes into the game, Daniel Zorita cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Eugenio Henrico took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luis Andino, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Cristian Sancho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Daniel Zorita blasted a shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Eugenio Henrico having to make a save. After 40 played minutes MAN FC got a freekick which was hit by Santos Birjaio. After a rather tough play, Ecuador's Agustín Saelices got a free kick in the 42nd minute. Daniel Zorita received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 45th minute. Eugenio Henrico tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 47th minute, Daniel Zorita made a precise shot to the right of Eugenio Henrico. MAN FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-3.
