It seemed to be an obvious goal in the 14th minute, but Jonathan Ferrant got his fingers on the ball or the save, leaving Venezuela hanging dry this time. Häsän Bädiyev took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tomas Illescas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Camaläddin Bağiyev's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Jonathan Ferrant read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 24th minute of play. Rüfät Salmanov could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 27th minute of the match, but Jonathan Ferrant made a huge save. Näcäf Eyyubov fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jonathan Ferrant having to interfere. Venezuela's defense didn't have a chance, in the 47th minute, when Camaläddin Bağiyev scored to the left of an out of position Jonathan Ferrant, making the score, 1-0. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Tomas Illescas made a kick off. Camaläddin Bağiyev scored 2-0 in the 54th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Jonathan Ferrant, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Tomas Illescas blasted a shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Häsän Bädiyev having to make a save. Abşeron's Häsän Bädiyev proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 60th minute of the match, managed to save Abşeron from getting a goal against them. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rüfät Salmanov in the 62nd minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Venezuela's zone, Camaläddin Bağiyev stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jonathan Ferrant came out of the goal and Camaläddin Bağiyev tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 67 played minutes Venezuela got a freekick which was hit by Alex Chicote. Jonathan Ferrant showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Camaläddin Bağiyev, who was totally free with the ball in the 71st minute. When Abşeron's Rüfät Salmanov in the 73rd minute got a chance for a shot 73rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Äkbär Atakişiyev sent away a hard shot on goal in the 86th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Teymur Mämmädov's late challenge caught a Venezuela's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Teymur Mämmädov helped the player get up and apologised. In the 89th match minute, Abşeron was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Teymur Mämmädov to maneuver through the defense. 94 minutes into the game, Vasya Utanov cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-0. Jonathan Ferrant was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Venezuela's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
