When the match clock showed 22 minutes, the score became 0-3 when Alan Tavares sped through Uruguay's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Joaquin Gayoso. After 26 played minutes Uruguay got a freekick which was hit by Camilo Covarrubias. Joaquin Gayoso showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alan Tavares in the 27th minute of the match. After some careless play in the Uruguay defense, Pedro Augusto Alves kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Joaquin Gayoso. The Uruguay fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Joaquin Gayoso should have stopped the shot. Maximiliano Escribano hit a great freekick 33 minutes into the match.

The wind increased when Pedro Augusto Alves made the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Camilo Franco in the 56th minute of play forced Internazionale-RS's goalkeeper Stefan Neubrandt to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 59th minute of the match Camilo Franco sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Stefan Neubrandt skillfully saved the ball. Joaquin Gayoso came out of the goal and Pedro Augusto Alves tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Internazionale-RS's Oskars Nīkulis was substituted for Caco Borges. Internazionale-RS made a substitution. Dany-Adams De Scheper replaced Jorge-Luis Pereira. Pedro Augusto Alves's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 76thth minute, Joaquin Gayoso skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. If Pedro Augusto Alves had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Stefan Neubrandt took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Francisco Seco, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 86th match minute, Internazionale-RS was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Wang Ting Hong to maneuver through the defense. Uruguay's Joaquin Gayoso played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Pedro Augusto Alves in the 92nd minute of play. Pedro Augusto Alves received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 96th minute. Joaquin Gayoso tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Internazionale-RS had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
