Hector Covarrubias's late challenge caught a Internazionale-RS's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Hector Covarrubias helped the player get up and apologised. In the 5th minute, Hector Covarrubias hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Hector Covarrubias was shown his second yellow card after 7 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. After 7 played minutes Paraguay got a freekick which was hit by Hector Covarrubias. Jacobo Nores made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alan Tavares in the 8th minute of play. 10 minutes into the match, Paraguay's goal looked a bit too open when Alan Tavares came free, but Jacobo Nores reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 10th minute, Alan Tavares left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Internazionale-RS fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. In the 15thth minute of the game Pedro Augusto Alves who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Paraguay's Jacobo Nores was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The audience was convinced that Alan Tavares's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jacobo Nores was relentless in the 21st minute of the game. Pedro Augusto Alves sent away a hard shot on goal in the 25th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Alan Campos hit a great freekick 26 minutes into the match. In the 29th minute, Paraguay's Raul Venegas seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Raul Venegas the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Paraguay protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Raul Venegas had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. In a very dangerous position, a player in Paraguay fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 29th minute. Penalty! Jacobo Nores had in the 31stth minute some difficulties stopping Pedro Augusto Alves's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. 35 minutes into the game, one of Paraguay:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Pedro Augusto Alves walked up to take care of the penalty kick. He was aiming for the top corner, but the ball went just outside the post. Pedro Augusto Alves sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Jose Sanz kicked well hit freekick during the 39th minute of the match. When Internazionale-RS's Pedro Augusto Alves in the 40th minute got a chance for a shot 40th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-3 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-3 lead.

In the 56th minute, Internazionale-RS's Alan Tavares dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-4. After 59 minutes, Pedro Augusto Alves made it 0-5 with a short kick to the right side. Paraguay's Jacobo Nores tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Alan Tavares scored 0-6 in the 62nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Jacobo Nores, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Internazionale-RS made a substitution. Oskars Nīkulis replaced Caco Borges. Pedro Augusto Alves might have been able to make a better finish in the 68th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Jacobo Nores. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Pedro Augusto Alves ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 68thth minute of the game Alan Tavares who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Paraguay's Jacobo Nores was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Pedro Augusto Alves got free with Jacobo Nores in the 69th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alan Tavares in the 71st minute of play forced Paraguay's goalkeeper Jacobo Nores to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Pedro Augusto Alves could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 74th minute of the match, but Jacobo Nores made a huge save. With his leg Jacobo Nores managed to avoid a goal in the 79thth minute, when Internazionale-RS's Pedro Augusto Alves fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. In the 84th minute, Alan Tavares ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Jacobo Nores was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-8. In the 90th minute Alan Tavares shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jacobo Nores saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Pedro Augusto Alves fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jacobo Nores having to interfere. Pedro Augusto Alves's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Jacobo Nores read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 96th minute of play. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Internazionale-RS had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
