Australian Youth Academy's Keylor Navas proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 6th minute of the match, managed to save Australian Youth Academy from getting a goal against them. Ellis Hoskin might have been able to make a better finish in the 7th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Joaquin Gayoso. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Ellis Hoskin ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 16th minute, Jorge Sainz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The audience was convinced that Garth Brough's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Joaquin Gayoso was relentless in the 22nd minute of the game. 25 minutes into the match, Garth Brough notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Uruguay's Joaquin Gayoso. Joaquin Gayoso was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Joaquin Gayoso took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Garth Brough, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Uruguay's Joaquin Gayoso played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Garth Brough in the 30th minute of play. If Francisco Seco had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jorge Sainz hit a great freekick 35 minutes into the match. Joaquin Gayoso stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Garth Brough's shot from short distance in the 37th minute. After some careless play in the Uruguay defense, Garth Brough kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Joaquin Gayoso. The Uruguay fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Joaquin Gayoso should have stopped the shot. Joaquin Gayoso showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ellis Hoskin, who was totally free with the ball in the 42nd minute. 42 minutes into the match, Ellis Hoskin had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Joaquin Gayoso. Uruguay's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Ellis Hoskin was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-3. Joaquin Gayoso showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Garth Brough, who was totally free with the ball in the 45th minute. Francisco Seco could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 47th minute of the match, but Keylor Navas made a huge save.

In the 57th minute Garth Brough shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Joaquin Gayoso saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Garth Brough might have been able to make a better finish in the 58th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Joaquin Gayoso. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Garth Brough ran back to his position shaking his head. Uruguay's Joaquin Gayoso proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 58th minute of the match, managed to save Uruguay from getting a goal against them. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Garth Brough in the 61st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Joaquin Gayoso saved Uruguay from getting behind. The supporters of Australian Youth Academy booed when Uruguay was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 61 match minutes in a wonderful position. Francisco Seco didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 66th minute, Jorge Sainz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Garth Brough sent away a hard shot on goal in the 69th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. With a little luck, Uruguay's Joaquin Gayoso got control of the ball when Garth Brough tried to sneak it across the goal line. If Garth Brough had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 70th minute of the match, Garth Brough got a very nice opportunity to score, but Joaquin Gayoso was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. After 72 minutes, Garth Brough made it 0-4 with a short kick to the right side. Uruguay's Joaquin Gayoso tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Francisco Seco scored 1-4 in the 75th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Keylor Navas, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Garth Brough kicked well hit freekick during the 77th minute of the match. When Camilo Covarrubias fell near the penalty area in the 79th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Uruguay's protests and gave Camilo Covarrubias a yellow card for diving instead. Camilo Covarrubias kicked well hit freekick during the 80th minute of the match. Australian Youth Academy's Rufus Roach shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 80th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Joaquin Gayoso but with some difficulty. Garth Brough sent away a hard shot on goal in the 82nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. A collision led to Australian Youth Academy getting a freekick after 83 minutes play. Boyd Allan hit a great ball. Jaime Cazalla missed a clear chance of a goal when in the 85 minute of the game fired away a shot, but unfortunally the ball went out to the Keylor Navas right hand side. Garth Brough's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Joaquin Gayoso read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 88th minute of play. The Uruguay supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Australian Youth Academy's performance. The match ended with a win for Australian Youth Academy.
