After having played for 11 minutes, Benoît Lamarre managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Rathmore Lime Tree's supporters crossed their fingers, but Benoît Lamarre was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Benito Sanz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Flavian Garcon in the 13th minute of the match. Benito Sanz made a fantastic save in the 16th minute, when Hervé Annette sent off a good shot on target. 21 minutes into the match, Costa Rica's goalkeeper Benito Sanz had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Flavian Garcon. Sofyane Valognes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Axel Tasis, who was totally free with the ball in the 25th minute. Aaron Alcocer kicked well hit freekick during the 26th minute of the match. Eliseo Noboa charged in rather forcefully in the 31st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Eliseo Noboa the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Costa Rica's Eliseo Noboa got a free kick in the 31st minute. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The referee felt a red card was in order, 37 minutes into the game, when Alexander Carballo put in a rough tackle. In the 37th match minute, Costa Rica was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alexander Carballo to maneuver through the defense. Benito Sanz made an important save on a dangerous shot by Gabin Lièvin in the 39th minute. 40 minutes into the game, Flavian Garcon cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-1. Benito Sanz was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-1 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Eliseo Noboa to make the kick off. The supporters of Rathmore Lime Tree booed when Costa Rica was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 52 match minutes in a wonderful position. Eliseo Noboa didn't get a good kick on the ball. 56 minutes into the match, Flavian Garcon notched a goal, 3-1, to the right of Costa Rica's Benito Sanz. Benito Sanz was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After 60 minutes, Lautaro Puig mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Costa Rica and the Rathmore Lime Tree players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 71 minutes of play, Rathmore Lime Tree's Hervé Annette made it 4-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Benito Sanz was left in no man's land by his defense there! If Flavian Garcon had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 81st minute, Eliseo Noboa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Benito Sanz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Flavian Garcon, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Benito Sanz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Benoît Lamarre, who was totally free with the ball in the 90th minute. The supporters of Rathmore Lime Tree booed when Costa Rica was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 90 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alan Moruga didn't get a good kick on the ball. Benoît Lamarre fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 96th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Benito Sanz having to interfere. Rathmore Lime Tree walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
