But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Pascal Ohlmann couldn't finish the play. 15 minutes into the match, Paraguay's goalkeeper Jacobo Nores had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Pascal Ohlmann. A collision led to Paraguay getting a freekick after 15 minutes play. Xavier Zoido hit a great ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Pascal Ohlmann got free with Jacobo Nores in the 18th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Pascal Ohlmann in the 19thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Jacobo Nores, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Pascal Ohlmann was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 23rd minute. Algrange's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Jaime Pardo in the 24th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Fabien Barthez saved Algrange from getting behind. Edmondo Antonangeli sent away a hard shot on goal in the 26th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 35 minutes into the game, Alexis Favre was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Algrange's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Paraguay the free kick. In the 35th match minute, Algrange was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alexis Favre to maneuver through the defense. If Hector Covarrubias had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Paraguay's attentive Jaime Pardo managed to snatch the ball when Edmondo Antonangeli made a throw-in in the 45th minute of the game. Jacobo Nores made an important save on a dangerous shot by Pascal Ohlmann in the 46th minute. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

In the 50th minute, Alan Campos hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 52 minutes, Pascal Ohlmann mouthed his way into the referee's book. With a left leg Jacobo Nores saved Paraguay from getting behind. 56 minutes into the match, Paraguay's goal looked a bit too open when Edmondo Antonangeli came free, but Jacobo Nores reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 57th minute, Pascal Ohlmann made a precise shot to the right of Jacobo Nores. Paraguay's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-0. Jacobo Nores showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gregorio Laurentzi, who was totally free with the ball in the 66th minute. 69 minutes into the match, Algrange's Gregorio Laurentzi sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Jacobo Nores narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 74 minutes in the game, Johnny Camus dribbled his way through the penalty area and after maneuvering past an opponent, drilled a quick shot at the goal. The ball looked like it was going in, but it was hit a bit too hard and flew over the goal. If Gregorio Laurentzi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 76th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Johnny Camus scored 3-0 in the 77th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Jacobo Nores, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Paraguay's Jacobo Nores played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Johnny Camus in the 81st minute of play. The supporters of Paraguay booed when Algrange was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 85 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gregorio Laurentzi didn't get a good kick on the ball. The audience was convinced that Johnny Camus's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jacobo Nores was relentless in the 89th minute of the game. Jacobo Nores showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Johnny Camus in the 91st minute of the match. Jaime Pardo charged in rather forcefully in the 92nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Jaime Pardo the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Jaime Pardo hit a great freekick 92 minutes into the match. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Algrange fans cheered their team off the field, for while Paraguay had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
