Francisco Infante showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Daniel Zorita in the 3rd minute of the match. Francisco Infante made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristian Sancho in the 8th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Herberto Caiado got free with Julio Vera in the 9th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Francisco Infante showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Daniel Zorita, who was totally free with the ball in the 12th minute. Horácio Sobral charged in rather forcefully in the 15th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Horácio Sobral the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Ecuador booed when Lima Team was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 15 match minutes in a wonderful position. Horácio Sobral didn't get a good kick on the ball. 17 minutes into the match, Daniel Zorita notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Lima Team's Francisco Infante. Francisco Infante was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. When Saúl Campos fell near the penalty area in the 23rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Lima Team's protests and gave Saúl Campos a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Ecuador booed when Lima Team was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 23 match minutes in a wonderful position. Saúl Campos didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ecuador's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Daniel Zorita in the 25th minute. The corner went over the outstretched arms of Lima Team's goalie and right to Luis Andino. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. Lima Team's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Daniel Zorita in the 30th minute of play forced Lima Team's goalkeeper Francisco Infante to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Herberto Caiado who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 33rdth minute tested the skills of Julio Vera when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Daniel Zorita blasted a shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Francisco Infante having to make a save. The audience was convinced that Daniel Zorita's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Francisco Infante was relentless in the 37th minute of the game. The audience thought a goal was coming when Herberto Caiado got free with Julio Vera in the 39th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 44th minute of the game. One of Ecuador:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Lima Team:s goal. Herberto Caiado shot the penalty kick by force right in the crossbar. No goal. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Herberto Caiado made the kick off in the second half. Through an outstanding action, after 54 minutes, Francisco Infante successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. 54 minutes into the game, Daniel Zorita recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Francisco Infante. Daniel Zorita showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-2. In the 59th minute, Ecuador's Cristian Sancho ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Francisco Infante. Francisco Infante yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-3. Lima Team's Francisco Infante proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 71st minute of the match, managed to save Lima Team from getting a goal against them. In the 74th minute, Herberto Caiado got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luis Andino in the 76th minute of play forced Lima Team's goalkeeper Francisco Infante to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 79th minute Herberto Caiado shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the final whistle sounded Ecuador left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Lima Team.
