Spectators: 50 (Terracing: 38, Seating: 11, VIP seats: 1) After 4 played minutes St. James Gate F.C. got a freekick which was hit by Brenna McWilliam. In the 7th minute, Roland Prunty fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. The supporters of St. James Gate F.C. booed when Costa Rica was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 8 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alexander Carballo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Beckett Costello took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 9th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Benito Sanz. Costa Rica's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. After 11 played minutes Costa Rica got a freekick which was hit by Hugo Ferrant. Lautaro Puig blasted a shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Banvan Duggan having to make a save. After a rather tough play, St. James Gate F.C.'s Bairre Callaghan got a free kick in the 15th minute. Banvan Duggan took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Axel Tasis, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Aaron Alcocer hit a great freekick 17 minutes into the match. After a defensive mix-up in St. James Gate F.C.'s zone, Axel Tasis stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Banvan Duggan came out of the goal and Axel Tasis tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Banvan Duggan showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lautaro Puig in the 26th minute of the match. Banvan Duggan showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Axel Tasis, who was totally free with the ball in the 28th minute. Benito Sanz made a fantastic save in the 29th minute, when Roland Prunty sent off a good shot on target. Eliseo Noboa recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 31st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bil McPhilip in the 33rd minute of play forced Costa Rica's goalkeeper Benito Sanz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Roland Prunty's late challenge caught a Costa Rica's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Roland Prunty helped the player get up and apologised. The audience thought a goal was coming when Roland Prunty got free with Benito Sanz in the 42nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Axel Tasis was the one to do the kick off. Banvan Duggan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eliseo Noboa in the 53rd minute of play. Benito Sanz stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Roland Prunty's shot from short distance in the 54th minute. St. James Gate F.C.'s Banvan Duggan proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 58th minute of the match, managed to save St. James Gate F.C. from getting a goal against them. The supporters of St. James Gate F.C. booed when Costa Rica was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 61 match minutes in a wonderful position. Aaron Alcocer didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 65th match minute, Costa Rica was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Abel Carballo to maneuver through the defense. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Berchan Gollogley during the 68th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Berchan Gollogley hit a great freekick 69 minutes into the match. Banvan Duggan took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Axel Tasis, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Lautaro Puig received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 76th minute. Banvan Duggan tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Costa Rica's Juan Rubio shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 82nd minute of play. The shot was stopped by Banvan Duggan but with some difficulty. Banvan Duggan showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Eliseo Noboa, who was totally free with the ball in the 84th minute. 88 minutes into the match, St. James Gate F.C.'s Roland Prunty sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Benito Sanz narrowly saved just below the crossbar. With a little luck, St. James Gate F.C.'s Banvan Duggan got control of the ball when Lautaro Puig tried to sneak it across the goal line. After 95 played minutes Costa Rica got a freekick which was hit by Lautaro Puig. Benito Sanz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Roland Prunty, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the St. James Gate F.C. players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
