Eugênio de Carvalho started the match with the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Isidoro Sarmiento in the 3rd minute of play forced Breguete FC's goalkeeper Jailson Soares to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Tomas Berganza's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Jailson Soares read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 5th minute of play. Panama's Marcos Cotilla played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eugênio de Carvalho in the 8th minute of play. The supporters of Panama booed when Breguete FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 9 match minutes in a wonderful position. Eugênio de Carvalho didn't get a good kick on the ball. Abraham Alguacil took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 11th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Jailson Soares. Breguete FC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. In the 12th minute, Nando Custódio hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Marcos Cotilla showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Benê Fernandez in the 16th minute of the match. Jean Alves hit a great freekick 17 minutes into the match. In the 19th minute of the match Panama got a corner. Breguete FC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Abraham Alguacil ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner ended in Isidoro Sarmiento almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Breguete FC's Jailson Soares did a great save. Panama's Marcos Cotilla played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Roderick van Boxel in the 23rd minute of play. After 25 played minutes Breguete FC got a freekick which was hit by Adilson Ortiz. Abraham Alguacil could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 29th minute of the match, but Jailson Soares made a huge save. Panama's Marcos Cotilla played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Roderick van Boxel in the 37th minute of play. Breguete FC's Jailson Soares proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 46th minute of the match, managed to save Breguete FC from getting a goal against them. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Tomas Berganza made a kick off. 52 minutes into the match, Panama's goalkeeper Marcos Cotilla had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Roderick van Boxel. Marcos Cotilla made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Benê Fernandez in the 54th minute of play. 56 minutes into the game, Isidoro Sarmiento was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Panama's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Breguete FC the free kick. After 56 played minutes Panama got a freekick which was hit by Isidoro Sarmiento. The supporters of Breguete FC booed when Panama was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 58 match minutes in a wonderful position. Miguel Miralles didn't get a good kick on the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Benê Fernandez got free with Marcos Cotilla in the 59th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Miguel Miralles in the 61st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jailson Soares saved Breguete FC from getting behind. After 62 minutes Breguete FC's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Abraham Alguacil who took care of the corner kick. Miguel Miralles kicked well hit freekick during the 62nd minute of the match. In the 64th minute, Jean Alves hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Thiago Andrade was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 68 minutes into the match. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 68th minute of the game. One of Breguete FC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Panama:s goal. The referee gave Panama a penalty, 70 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Abraham Alguacil, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Breguete FC's Jailson Soares. 1-2. In the 75th minute Attila Iványi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marcos Cotilla saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience was convinced that Roderick van Boxel's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Marcos Cotilla was relentless in the 79th minute of the game. In the 83rd minute, Attila Iványi hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 88th minute, Isidoro Sarmiento made a precise shot to the right of Jailson Soares. Breguete FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-2. Tomas Berganza hit a great freekick 94 minutes into the match.
