FC Medicina Bucuresti's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave El Salvador the free kick. The supporters of El Salvador booed when FC Medicina Bucuresti was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 2 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ricardo Zorita showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Stelian Joldea, who was totally free with the ball in the 14th minute. Ricardo Zorita showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Teodor Bălășoiu in the 23rd minute of the match. FC Medicina Bucuresti's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Dumitru Vâlcu in the 24th minute. FC Medicina Bucuresti's Dumitru Vâlcu was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Ricardo Zorita in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. After 27 played minutes FC Medicina Bucuresti got a freekick which was hit by Leonard Dobrea. Moises Fernandino hit a great freekick 30 minutes into the match. After a defensive mix-up in FC Medicina Bucuresti's zone, Moises Fernandino stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Mihai Drăucean came out of the goal and Moises Fernandino tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Teodor Bălășoiu during the 39th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Teodor Bălășoiu hit a great freekick 40 minutes into the match. After 44 played minutes El Salvador got a freekick which was hit by Moises Fernandino. After 45 played minutes, FC Medicina Bucuresti's Adriano De Simone shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Ricardo Zorita came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in FC Medicina Bucuresti reached it. Abram Luque charged in rather forcefully in the 46th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Abram Luque the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, El Salvador's Abram Luque got a free kick in the 46th minute. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Stelian Joldea stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Stelian Joldea fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ricardo Zorita having to interfere. In the 64th minute Stelian Joldea shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ricardo Zorita saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Walery Poniewaz hit a great freekick 69 minutes into the match. In the 81st minute, Moises Fernandino ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Mihai Drăucean was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-0. 84 minutes into the match, FC Medicina Bucuresti's goal looked a bit too open when Moises Fernandino came free, but Mihai Drăucean reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ricardo Zorita made a fantastic save in the 87th minute, when Niculae Mihoc sent off a good shot on target. Moises Fernandino recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 90th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Damian Nicolae took the ball and in the 94 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Ricardo Zorita. Ricardo Zorita dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-1. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. El Salvador had won after a very even match.
