Markus Vähäsavo made in the 69th minute of the game a quick throw-in and Davide Beckham immediately put the ball in play. With a little luck, Chile's Thiago Pliego got control of the ball when Eero Uusipaavalniemi tried to sneak it across the goal line. Manchester United FC's Edwin van der Sar played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mariano Lacasa in the 78th minute of play. The home crowd let out a huge roar when the referee blew for the end of the game. Chile were victorious despite being under pressure from Manchester United FC for much of the match.
