But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Andy Cole couldn't finish the play. After having played for 8 minutes, Andy Cole managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Floresta Negra FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Andy Cole was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. With a little luck, Colombia's Pedro Manzanares got control of the ball when Andy Cole tried to sneak it across the goal line. Pedro Manzanares made an important save on a dangerous shot by Andy Cole in the 16th minute. Floresta Negra FC's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Lokon Pøhl in the 17th minute. In the 28thth minute of the game Abram Sarmiento who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Floresta Negra FC's Egun Pais was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Axel Montenegro in the 31st minute of play forced Floresta Negra FC's goalkeeper Egun Pais to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 33rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Colombia's goalkeeper Pedro Manzanares, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. If Axel Montenegro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Egun Pais made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Axel Montenegro in the 34th minute of play. In the 36th minute, Pascual Carballar hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The crowd rose to their feet as Floresta Negra FC's Andy Cole slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Pedro Manzanares. That made the score 2-0 after 44 minutes of play. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

An unexpectedly hard shot by Jerzy Zjawin in the 51st minute of play forced Colombia's goalkeeper Pedro Manzanares to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Egun Pais made a fantastic save in the 58th minute, when Axel Montenegro sent off a good shot on target. In the 60th minute Axel Montenegro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Egun Pais saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Floresta Negra FC's Jardel Lewandowski was substituted for Andy Cole. A sloppy throw-in by Gernando Rocha in the 63rd minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Colombia's Kevin Mastache. Egun Pais made an important save on a dangerous shot by Axel Montenegro in the 64th minute. Pedro Manzanares took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jardel Lewandowski, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Axel Montenegro came free with the goalkeeper in the 77th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Egun Pais could save by the left post. Thanks to some nice moves Axel Montenegro could shoot a difficult shot in the 77th minute, which Egun Pais however easily saved by the left post. Egun Pais made an important save on a dangerous shot by Axel Montenegro in the 80th minute. Abram Sarmiento might have been able to make a better finish in the 85th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Egun Pais. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Abram Sarmiento ran back to his position shaking his head. Colombia made a substitution. Ignacio Mastache replaced Abram Sarmiento. Colombia made a substitution. Floresta Negra FC walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
