After 30 played minutes Breguete FC got a freekick which was hit by Erivaldo Rezende. In the 39th match minute, Breguete FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Juan Silveira to maneuver through the defense. If Jaime Pardo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 45 minutes, Erivaldo Rezende mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Breguete FC and the Paraguay players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Breguete FC's Erivaldo Rezende got a free kick in the 45th minute. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

The wind increased when Luiz Gustavo Sanches made the kick off in the second half. 54 minutes into the game, Vitinho Galvão threw the ball into play from the sideline. Paraguay's Jaime Pardo quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. Vitinho Galvão made in the 57th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Paraguay's Hector Covarrubias. In the 65th minute Jaime Pardo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Júlio Soares saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Paraguay's Jaime Pardo got a good chance for a goal in the 69th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The supporters of Paraguay booed when Breguete FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 70 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luizão Cruz didn't get a good kick on the ball. Primitivo Escribano sent away a hard shot on goal in the 76th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Adriano Leite had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 81st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Hector Covarrubias received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 85th minute. Júlio Soares tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 88thth minute of the game Jaime Pardo who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Breguete FC's Júlio Soares was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Iker Tafalla hit a great freekick 89 minutes into the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 90th minute, Armandinho Nascimento managed to get in a good position for a shot. Breguete FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Armandinho Nascimento was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jacobo Nores breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The audience thought a goal was coming when Luiz Gustavo Sanches got free with Jacobo Nores in the 94th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort.
