After some fancy dribbling in the 20th minute, Patricio Costa managed to get in a good position for a shot. Venezuela's supporters rose to their feet, but Patricio Costa was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Frank Netto breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 21st minute, Loïc Duprey made a precise shot to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. Venezuela's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-0. Tamboril's Frank Netto played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tomas Illescas in the 28th minute of play. With an all-out effort, Tamboril's Jonathan Ferrant threw himself towards the right post 42 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Franklin Salgado, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. After 44 minutes, Salvador Gisbert mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Venezuela and the Tamboril players grew even worse after the yellow card. After some fancy dribbling in the 46th minute, Tomas Illescas managed to get in a good position for a shot. Loïc Duprey took the ball and in the 68 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Jonathan Ferrant. Jonathan Ferrant dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-2. When Chicão Saldanha fell near the penalty area in the 73rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Tamboril's protests and gave Chicão Saldanha a yellow card for diving instead. Chicão Saldanha hit a great freekick 73 minutes into the match. Tomas Illescas made a great header on Venezuela's corner, it was just that Tamboril's Frank Netto managed to reach the ball for a save. 92 minutes into the game, Tamboril's Waldir Cearense nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Jonathan Ferrant made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 4-2. Franklin Salgado kicked well hit freekick during the 95th minute of the match. Tamboril were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Venezuela for a fine match.
