Rapid's Antal Pádár played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tomas Berganza in the 11th minute of play. Marcos Cotilla made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Álmos Csáki in the 12th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Panama's Alex Cambeiro got a free kick in the 19th minute. After a rather tough play, Rapid's Ferenc Kásás got a free kick in the 23rd minute. In the 25th match minute, Rapid was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by János Kónya to maneuver through the defense. Marcos Cotilla showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Pál Sugár in the 27th minute of the match. In the 30th minute Ferenc Kásás shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marcos Cotilla saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tomas Berganza in the 32nd minute of play forced Rapid's goalkeeper Antal Pádár to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Marcos Cotilla showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ferenc Kásás, who was totally free with the ball in the 33rd minute. Marcos Cotilla made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Patrik Marton in the 42nd minute of play. Marcos Cotilla stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Álmos Csáki's shot from short distance in the 42nd minute. Marcos Cotilla didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Álmos Csáki went, in the 46th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score.

Panama's Marcos Cotilla proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 53rd minute of the match, managed to save Panama from getting a goal against them. In the 56th minute Álmos Csáki shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marcos Cotilla saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Marcos Cotilla made an important save on a dangerous shot by Patrik Marton in the 58th minute. A collision led to Panama getting a freekick after 59 minutes play. Dylan Sarmiento hit a great ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Patrik Marton got free with Marcos Cotilla in the 61st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After some fancy dribbling in the 62nd minute, Tomas Berganza managed to get in a good position for a shot. Panama's supporters rose to their feet, but Tomas Berganza was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Antal Pádár breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Tomas Berganza fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 68th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Antal Pádár having to interfere. Patrik Marton received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 70th minute. Marcos Cotilla tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Marcos Cotilla came out of the goal in the 72nd minute to try and stop a shot by Rapid's Álmos Csáki. But to his dismay, Álmos Csáki quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. In the 76th minute of the match Rapid got a corner. Panama's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Krisztián Sinkó ran over to the corner to take the kick. Rapid's Antal Pádár played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Isidoro Sarmiento in the 79th minute of play. The Panama supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Rapid's performance. The match ended with a win for Rapid.
