Julian Murillo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ezequiel Centurión read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 15th minute of play. Rolando Noboa stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Pepe Sand's shot from short distance in the 18th minute. In the 21st minute, Milagros Fraga left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Peru fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Alonso Berganza made in the 23rd minute of the game a quick throw-in and Moises Gayoso immediately put the ball in play. 24 minutes into the game, Julian Murillo cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Ezequiel Centurión was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Pepe Sand received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. In the 36th minute Julian Murillo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ezequiel Centurión saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 42 minutes in the game Gervasio Valiente did a throw-in, and the ball was quickly in game thanks to Okan Nesta.
