If Julian Murillo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 3rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Rolando Noboa made a fantastic save in the 4th minute, when M. Agus Young sent off a good shot on target. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Julian Murillo in the 7th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Florentino Herauso prevented the ball from getting in the gole. A collision led to Santa Lucia de Merlo getting a freekick after 11 minutes play. Alvaro Llorienzo hit a great ball. In the 12th match minute, Santa Lucia de Merlo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alvaro Llorienzo to maneuver through the defense. Santa Lucia de Merlo's Florentino Herauso played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Julian Murillo in the 13th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Julian Murillo in the 20th minute of play forced Santa Lucia de Merlo's goalkeeper Florentino Herauso to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 22nd minute, Julian Murillo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Peru's supporters rose to their feet, but Julian Murillo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Florentino Herauso breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The supporters of Santa Lucia de Merlo booed when Peru was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 23 match minutes in a wonderful position. Anthony Alvarado didn't get a good kick on the ball. Florentino Herauso took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Eliseo Mina, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Emmanuel Reyes hit a great freekick 38 minutes into the match. Joaquin Prats kicked well hit freekick during the 41st minute of the match. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Julian Murillo to make the kick off. 53 minutes into the match, Peru's goal looked a bit too open when Levan Poggenborg came free, but Rolando Noboa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Santa Lucia de Merlo's M. Agus Young in the 57th minute got a chance for a shot 57th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. When the match clock showed 68 minutes, the score became 1-1 when Polo Quinteros sped through Peru's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Rolando Noboa. After 70 minutes, Polo Quinteros mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Santa Lucia de Merlo and the Peru players grew even worse after the yellow card. Polo Quinteros kicked well hit freekick during the 70th minute of the match. Florentino Herauso showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Julian Murillo in the 71st minute of the match. Florentino Herauso was a little too slow when Julian Murillo got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 71st minute. The score was now 1-2. In the 75th minute the ball was on its way in behind Santa Lucia de Merlo's goalkeeper Florentino Herauso, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The supporters of Peru booed when Santa Lucia de Merlo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 84 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alvaro Llorienzo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Peru made a substitution. Rafael Gallo replaced Julian Murillo. In the 85th minute, Alvaro Llorienzo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The supporters of Peru booed when Santa Lucia de Merlo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 86 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alvaro Llorienzo didn't get a good kick on the ball. 90 minutes into the match, Rafael Gallo had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Florentino Herauso. Santa Lucia de Merlo's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Rafael Gallo was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-3. Rolando Noboa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Polo Quinteros in the 93rd minute of the match. With a little luck, Santa Lucia de Merlo's Florentino Herauso got control of the ball when Antonio Tenorio tried to sneak it across the goal line.
