Garphyttan were awarded a corner in the 9th minute after USA's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Michael Kvalfält took the corner. Jörn Petersson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 11th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 12th minute Cassius Byrne shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Erik Skog saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 13th minute, Cassius Byrne got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Erik Skog took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cassius Byrne, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 15th minute USA were awarded a corner. Cassius Byrne went to the cornerflag to take it. A well-hit corner resulted in Edward Mcdonald heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. Marco Day stood somewhat misplaced when Rähim Sterling came free in front of goal and shot 1-0 to the left of him in the 19 minute. With an all-out effort, Garphyttan's Marco Day threw himself towards the right post 26 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Viktor Albäck, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. With his leg Marco Day managed to avoid a goal in the 30thth minute, when Garphyttan's Rähim Sterling fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. In the 36th minute, Monty Rogers made a precise shot to the right of Erik Skog. Garphyttan's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. USA's Marco Day played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rähim Sterling in the 44th minute of play. Erik Skog made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cassius Byrne in the 47th minute of play. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Cassius Byrne made a kick off. Erik Skog showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Monty Rogers in the 50th minute of the match. If Rähim Sterling had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Erik Skog stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Edward Mcdonald's shot from short distance in the 67th minute. When Donato de Salles came up free with the goalie in the 71st minute, the Garphyttan fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Donato de Salles couldn't finish the play. Garphyttan's Jim Kellman was substituted for Michael Kvalfält. Garphyttan's Algot Ahlfors was substituted for Viktor Albäck. USA's Khalid Parry was substituted for Monty Rogers. Rähim Sterling fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marco Day having to interfere. Garphyttan's Erik Skog proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 89th minute of the match, managed to save Garphyttan from getting a goal against them. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Sam Campbell in the 89th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Erik Skog saved Garphyttan from getting behind. The supporters of USA booed when Garphyttan was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 95 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rähim Sterling didn't get a good kick on the ball. Khalid Parry sent away a hard shot on goal in the 96th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
