The supporters of Champions Iasi booed when Mexico was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 20 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lautaro Mancebo didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 39th minute Facundo Cadaval shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Broderick Ceney saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Dante Lacasa made an important save on a dangerous shot by Waldemar Gierlach in the 46th minute. After 47 played minutes, Mexico's Joel Gaona shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Broderick Ceney came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Mexico reached it.

A collision led to Mexico getting a freekick after 91 minutes play. Luca Zorita hit a great ball. The supporters of Mexico booed when Champions Iasi was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 93 match minutes in a wonderful position. Eusebiu Crăciunaș didn't get a good kick on the ball. Broderick Ceney had in the 97thth minute some difficulties stopping Joel Gaona's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. In the 97th minute, Joel Gaona made a precise shot to the right of Broderick Ceney. Champions Iasi's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-4. Mexico's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
