Spectators: 40 (Terracing: 31, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Axel Tasis took the kick off in the first half of the match. Axel Tasis hit a great freekick 3 minutes into the match. In the 4th match minute, Costa Rica was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Axel Tasis to maneuver through the defense. Eliseo Noboa recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 6th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Costa Rica's zone, Ludomir Zacharek stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Benito Sanz came out of the goal and Ludomir Zacharek tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Cezary Kasiewski got in the 18th a clear chance and fired away a hard shot against goal, but Benito Sanz handled the situation perfectly and made a save by the crossbar. Benito Sanz stood somewhat misplaced when Cezary Kasiewski came free in front of goal and shot 2-0 to the left of him in the 18 minute. When Alan Moruga fell near the penalty area in the 21st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Costa Rica's protests and gave Alan Moruga a yellow card for diving instead. After a defensive mix-up in Costa Rica's zone, Dominik Brysz stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Benito Sanz came out of the goal and Dominik Brysz tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Alan Moruga hit a great freekick 24 minutes into the match. In the 26th minute Cezary Kasiewski shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Benito Sanz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Eliseo Noboa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 29th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Betão Pontes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Axel Tasis, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 33rd minute, Witomir Misiorowski ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Benito Sanz was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-0. In the 36th minute, Costa Rica's Abel Carballo seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Abel Carballo the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Costa Rica protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Abel Carballo had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. In the 36th minute, one of Costa Rica:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Costa Rica. Benito Sanz went to the wrong direction when Dominik Brysz was taking care of the penalty kick which however missed the goal. Benito Sanz was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Cezary Kasiewski showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 4-0 in the 40 minute of play. With a little luck, Costa Rica's Benito Sanz got control of the ball when Ludomir Zacharek tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 44th minute of the match, Cezary Kasiewski tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Benito Sanz saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 5-0.

GKS Katowice made a substitution. Lucjan Werra replaced Ludomir Zacharek. After a rather tough play, GKS Katowice's Dominik Brysz got a free kick in the 57th minute. Efrain Moruga's late challenge caught a GKS Katowice's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Efrain Moruga helped the player get up and apologised. Efrain Moruga kicked well hit freekick during the 59th minute of the match. 60 minutes into the match, Costa Rica's goal looked a bit too open when Dominik Brysz came free, but Benito Sanz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 62 minutes in the game, Eliseo Noboa dribbled his way through the penalty area and after maneuvering past an opponent, drilled a quick shot at the goal. The ball looked like it was going in, but it was hit a bit too hard and flew over the goal. Cezary Kasiewski recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 67th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Lautaro Puig could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 68th minute of the match, but Betão Pontes made a huge save. GKS Katowice's defense didn't have a chance, in the 68th minute, when Lautaro Puig scored to the left of an out of position Betão Pontes, making the score, 5-1. In the 72nd minute, Cezary Kasiewski made a precise shot to the right of Benito Sanz. Costa Rica's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 6-1. Juan Rubio charged in rather forcefully in the 75th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Juan Rubio the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Juan Rubio hit a great freekick 76 minutes into the match. GKS Katowice's Lucjan Werra got a good chance for a goal in the 77th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Benito Sanz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lucjan Werra, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Benito Sanz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cezary Kasiewski, who was totally free with the ball in the 82nd minute. Lucjan Werra sent away a hard shot on goal in the 83rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Lautaro Puig during the 88th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of GKS Katowice booed when Costa Rica was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 88 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lautaro Puig didn't get a good kick on the ball. Alan Moruga kicked well hit freekick during the 94th minute of the match.
