The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After taking down the ball on Newcastle United's corner Adam Pacholewski fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Jonathan Ferrant quite easily take care of the ball. Adam Pacholewski could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 26th minute of the match, but Jonathan Ferrant made a huge save. Patricio Costa's late challenge caught a Newcastle United's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Patricio Costa helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Newcastle United booed when Venezuela was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 27 match minutes in a wonderful position. Patricio Costa didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Thomas Vollmar in the 29th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jonathan Ferrant saved Venezuela from getting behind. Thomas Vollmar in the 32ndth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Jonathan Ferrant, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. A hard shot 37 in the game by Thomas Vollmar from a close distance when the talented Jonathan Ferrant managed to make a qualified save. Venezuela's players were relieved. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 38th minute of the match, managed to save Venezuela from getting a goal against them. An unexpected shot in the 45th minute by Pankracy Malicki got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Jonathan Ferrant came out of the goal in the 54th minute to try and stop a shot by Newcastle United's Thomas Vollmar. But to his dismay, Thomas Vollmar quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. After some fancy dribbling in the 62nd minute, Tomas Illescas managed to get in a good position for a shot. Venezuela's supporters rose to their feet, but Tomas Illescas was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Mikolaj Jerzyk breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Newcastle United's Filip Orling was substituted for Julian Obuchowicz. After some careless play in the Venezuela defense, Thomas Vollmar kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. The Venezuela fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jonathan Ferrant should have stopped the shot. Venezuela's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Tomas Illescas in the 74th minute. The supporters of Venezuela booed when Newcastle United was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 75 match minutes in a wonderful position. Marian Erland didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jonathan Ferrant showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Thomas Vollmar in the 77th minute of the match. Mikolaj Jerzyk showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tomas Illescas, who was totally free with the ball in the 78th minute. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Zé Paulo Zonta couldn't finish the play. Jonathan Ferrant showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Adam Pacholewski in the 83rd minute of the match. 86 minutes into the game, Thomas Vollmar cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 4-0. Jonathan Ferrant was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in.
