Semir Jakubović didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Cristian Sancho went, in the 28th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. 32 minutes into the match, Predators's goal looked a bit too open when Luis Andino came free, but Semir Jakubović reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Julio Vera stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Çakır Baycan's shot from short distance in the 34th minute. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Marcel Freitas, who was totally free with the ball in the 45th minute. The audience was convinced that Çakır Baycan's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Julio Vera was relentless in the 46th minute of the game. After the first half Ecuador were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Çakır Baycan stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The Predators fans' excitement grew in the 51st match minute when Predators's Çakır Baycan looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Predators's Semir Jakubović proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 67th minute of the match, managed to save Predators from getting a goal against them. When Luis Andino fell near the penalty area in the 69th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Ecuador's protests and gave Luis Andino a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Ecuador getting a freekick after 69 minutes play. Luis Andino hit a great ball. In the 71st match minute, Predators was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Buğra Tuğlu to maneuver through the defense. Çakır Baycan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 75th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Julio Vera having to interfere. Felix Montenegro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 86th minute. Semir Jakubović tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Semir Jakubović made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristian Sancho in the 88th minute of play. Semir Jakubović made an important save on a dangerous shot by Cristian Sancho in the 90th minute. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cyryl Bojanowski, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ecuador were clearly unhappy with the draw, as they felt they had done enough to earn themselves a victory.
