Pedro Manzanares was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The supporters of Sundborn IF booed when Colombia was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 16 match minutes in a wonderful position. Antonio Indiano didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 19th minute Axel Montenegro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Kalle Askberg saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 20 minutes into the game, Sundborn IF's Alf Hansson nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Pedro Manzanares made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0. In the 23rd minute Axel Montenegro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Kalle Askberg saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Sundborn IF's Kalle Askberg played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Santino Seco in the 36th minute of play. Kalle Askberg took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Abram Sarmiento, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Kalle Askberg made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Axel Montenegro in the 44th minute of play. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Alf Hansson stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Orlando Tafalla who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 51stth minute tested the skills of Kalle Askberg when he managed to save the team from getting behind. After 52 minutes Sundborn IF's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Axel Montenegro who took care of the corner kick. Santino Seco was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post. Santino Seco received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Kalle Askberg came out and tried to block the shot, but Santino Seco slotted it home off the left post making it 2-1 in the 56th minute. Colombia's Axel Montenegro shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 61st minute of play. The shot was stopped by Kalle Askberg but with some difficulty. Axel Montenegro's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Kalle Askberg read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 65th minute of play. Colombia's Abram Secada was substituted for Axel Montenegro. In the 67th minute of the match Colombia got a corner. Sundborn IF's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Kevin Mastache ran over to the corner to take the kick. Pedro Manzanares made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sven-Olof Stephansson in the 70th minute of play. Sundborn IF's Kalle Askberg proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 72nd minute of the match, managed to save Sundborn IF from getting a goal against them. Abram Secada blasted a shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Kalle Askberg having to make a save. Sundborn IF's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
