Michalis Aggelopoulos might have been able to make a better finish in the 30th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Jonathan Ferrant. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Michalis Aggelopoulos ran back to his position shaking his head. Chernolνtsa FC's Michalis Aggelopoulos got a good chance for a goal in the 35th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Valentinos Adamiadis might have been able to make a better finish in the 45th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Jonathan Ferrant. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Valentinos Adamiadis ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 46th minute Iakovos Skarpathiotis shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jonathan Ferrant saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Tomas Illescas to make the kick off. In the 53rd minute, Eutichios Vlantis hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.
