The Venezuela fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jonathan Ferrant should have stopped the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Junior Quintana in the 12th minute of play forced Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Erwann Patrice's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 18thth minute, Jonathan Ferrant skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Junior Quintana sent away a hard shot on goal in the 21st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Tim Ménet fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jonathan Ferrant having to interfere. Jose Correa hit a great freekick 30 minutes into the match. Cosa nostra Lyon's Junior Quintana got a good chance for a goal in the 30th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Jonathan Ferrant made a fantastic save in the 33rd minute, when Erwann Patrice sent off a good shot on target. Félicien Boidin came free with the goalkeeper in the 39th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Jonathan Ferrant could save by the left post. Jonathan Ferrant showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Junior Quintana, who was totally free with the ball in the 41st minute. In the 42nd minute of the match Cosa nostra Lyon got a corner. Venezuela's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Félicien Boidin ran over to the corner to take the kick. After a defensive mix-up in Venezuela's zone, Erwann Patrice stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jonathan Ferrant came out of the goal and Erwann Patrice tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 45th minute of the match, managed to save Venezuela from getting a goal against them. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-0 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Junior Quintana to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 52ndth minute of the game Erwann Patrice who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 54 minutes had been played when some careless play by Venezuela's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Félicien Boidin was slow to take the kick. During this time Cosa nostra Lyon's players had a chance to rest. A well-hit corner resulted in Erwann Patrice heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. In the 56th minute, Erwann Patrice ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Jonathan Ferrant was frozen by the shot and now it was 4-0. Clem Fath showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tomas Illescas in the 62nd minute of the match. Tomas Illescas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 65th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Junior Quintana in the 68th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jonathan Ferrant saved Venezuela from getting behind. In the 70th minute, Junior Quintana made a precise shot to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. Venezuela's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 5-0. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Junior Quintana in the 73rd minute of play. The supporters of Cosa nostra Lyon booed when Venezuela was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 75 match minutes in a wonderful position. Patricio Costa didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 80 minutes, Junior Quintana made it 7-0 with a short kick to the right side. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. When the match clock showed 85 minutes, the score became 8-0 when Junior Quintana sped through Venezuela's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. Jonathan Ferrant showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Junior Quintana in the 90th minute of the match. Jonathan Venegas hit a great freekick 92 minutes into the match. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Cosa nostra Lyon fully deserved thier win.
