The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The audience thought a goal was coming when Geovani Barral got free with Arne Almstedt in the 8th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Geovani Barral blasted a shot towards the goal in the 9th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Arne Almstedt having to make a save. 9 minutes into the match, Hudiksvalls United's goal looked a bit too open when Geovani Barral came free, but Arne Almstedt reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to Hudiksvalls United getting a freekick after 10 minutes play. Björn Björklund hit a great ball. Pär Fridlund hit a great freekick 11 minutes into the match. Arne Almstedt stood somewhat misplaced when Geovani Barral came free in front of goal and shot 2-0 to the left of him in the 13 minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Geovani Barral in the 16th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Arne Almstedt saved Hudiksvalls United from getting behind. Hudiksvalls United's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Geovani Barral was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 5-0. During the 31st minute of the match Pär Fridlund completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Pär Fridlund a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. After a rather tough play, Hudiksvalls United's Pär Fridlund got a free kick in the 32nd minute. A hard shot by Basilio Quintero from long distance, 33 minutes into the match, got Arne Almstedt's attention.
