After some careless play in the Curicó-Unido defense, Håkan Dahlkvist kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Ángel Folch. The Curicó-Unido fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ángel Folch should have stopped the shot. Eduardo Vargas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 16th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Arne Magnusson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alonso Dietert in the 18th minute of the match. After 19 minutes of play, Curicó-Unido's Abdón Guerola made it 1-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Arne Magnusson was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 25th minute of the match, Abdón Guerola tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Arne Magnusson saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. In the 27th match minute, Curicó-Unido was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sansón Atienza to maneuver through the defense. When Herman Lindberg came up free with the goalie in the 37th minute, the Ströms Diamonds fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Herman Lindberg couldn't finish the play. Ángel Folch made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Aaron Zander in the 39th minute of play. Ángel Folch showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Aaron Zander in the 44th minute of the match. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-4 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Eduardo Vargas to make the kick off. With a little luck, Curicó-Unido's Ángel Folch got control of the ball when Aaron Zander tried to sneak it across the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alonso Dietert in the 57th minute of play forced Ströms Diamonds's goalkeeper Arne Magnusson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 73rd match minute, Ströms Diamonds was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Stefan Simonsson to maneuver through the defense. Arne Magnusson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alonso Dietert in the 73rd minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Nicolas Davidovits in the 75th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Arne Magnusson prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Ströms Diamonds's Arne Magnusson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nicolas Davidovits in the 79th minute of play. Ángel Folch came out of the goal in the 80th minute to try and stop a shot by Ströms Diamonds's Aaron Zander. But to his dismay, Aaron Zander quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-5. Arne Magnusson didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Nicolas Davidovits went, in the 85th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-5 was the resulting score. Ströms Diamonds's attentive Herman Lindberg managed to snatch the ball when Marcel Linhares made a throw-in in the 88th minute of the game. Ángel Folch took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Herman Lindberg, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Curicó-Unido's defense didn't have a chance, in the 93rd minute, when Oscar Igelström scored to the left of an out of position Ángel Folch, making the score, 3-6. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Ströms Diamonds walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
