The goalkeeper, Ricardo Zorita, was totally fooled by Great Bulgaria's Evtim Kalúpchiev, who 73 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. Evtim Kalúpchiev recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 76th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 78th minute, Moises Fernandino managed to get in a good position for a shot. El Salvador's supporters rose to their feet, but Moises Fernandino was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Trendafil Margin breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Trendafil Margin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Moises Fernandino in the 84th minute of play. 86 minutes into the match, El Salvador's goalkeeper Ricardo Zorita had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Yanaki Peychinov. In the 87th match minute, Great Bulgaria was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Marko Dzhorinski to maneuver through the defense. If Moises Fernandino had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ricardo Zorita made a fantastic save in the 91st minute, when Prokopi Pravchanski sent off a good shot on target. El Salvador were awarded a corner in the 97th minute after Great Bulgaria's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Mateo Leguizamo took the corner. El Salvador's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
