Konrad Tøndergaard took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luca Zorita, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Joel Gaona fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Konrad Tøndergaard having to interfere.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Joel Gaona was the one to do the kick off. Lautaro Mancebo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 62nd minute of the match, but Konrad Tøndergaard made a huge save. Lautaro Mancebo received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Konrad Tøndergaard came out and tried to block the shot, but Lautaro Mancebo slotted it home off the left post making it 0-3 in the 62nd minute. SPORT LISBOA E BENFICA's Konrad Tøndergaard proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 65th minute of the match, managed to save SPORT LISBOA E BENFICA from getting a goal against them. If Alberto Tafalla had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Through an outstanding action, after 69 minutes, Konrad Tøndergaard successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. 71 minutes in the game, Joel Gaona fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Konrad Tøndergaard having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 72nd minute, Luca Zorita managed to get in a good position for a shot. Mexico's supporters rose to their feet, but Luca Zorita was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Konrad Tøndergaard breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 78th minute, Joel Gaona fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Konrad Tøndergaard, passed just outside the right post. With a little luck, SPORT LISBOA E BENFICA's Konrad Tøndergaard got control of the ball when Lautaro Mancebo tried to sneak it across the goal line. 82 minutes into the match, SPORT LISBOA E BENFICA's goal looked a bit too open when Joel Gaona came free, but Konrad Tøndergaard reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Dante Lacasa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Joel Coimbra in the 84th minute of the match. SPORT LISBOA E BENFICA's Carlos Lousada was substituted for Joel Coimbra. In the 90th minute the ball was on its way in behind SPORT LISBOA E BENFICA's goalkeeper Konrad Tøndergaard, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Lautaro Mancebo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Konrad Tøndergaard having to interfere. When the match was over Mexico could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than SPORT LISBOA E BENFICA throughout the match.
